About the event

Made between 1915 and 1919 by the publisher Maruccelli of Milan, they represent a vast repertoire of invocations of national greatness that should have exalted the souls of national patriots.

It is actually a fairly successful commercial production that often sells more advertising than patriotic slogans. This is perhaps the most interesting aspect as far as these series may have represented reality. however exaggerated, the emerging Italian industry, with many companies that will not only survive two querre but will be decisive in Italian post-war economic growth.

The collection consists of 30 series, some consisting of one or two stamps, others of over 100 different subjects.

In the list of the series you will notice some "holes" and also "duplications", these are not our mistakes or forgetfulness but a mere representation of the series as issued over the years.
